Melanie offers a warm, collaborative counselling space where you can feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment. She recognizes the courage it can take to seek support and honours the ways you have navigated difficult circumstances. Together, you can explore your emotions, thoughts, physical experiences, and spiritual connections, moving toward a life that reflects what matters to you.

Melanie prioritizes working with Indigenous, Black, and other People of Colour, including people of mixed ancestry, and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Her practice is grounded in anti-oppressive and trauma- and violence-informed approaches, alongside solution-oriented counselling. Sessions offer space to make sense of your experiences, recognize your strengths, and explore practical steps toward your goals. She adapts her approach to your needs, values, and circumstances and approaches this work as a lifelong learner.

Melanie is a racialized settler of Filipino ancestry, a child of immigrants, and comes from a working-class background. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Treaty 1 Territory, the original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples and the homeland of the Métis Nation. Her experiences of both marginalization and privilege inform her attention to identity, relationships, and the wider contexts that shape our lives.

Melanie is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (BCACC #12760). She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University and a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia.
